Australian Buskers Alley

‘Busker’s Alley’ has been a popular hit at the Australian Musical Theatre Festival for many years. This year, we offer a companion piece, with a similar journey but this time, through the Australian industry and the musicals it has created. Join us as we take you on a journey from the golden era of J.C. Williamson‘s to the modern era of Aussie writers such as Eddie Perfect, Tim Minchin, Carmel Dean, Nick Enright and so many others.

The tour begins geographically in the foyer of the Hotel Grand Chancellor with a nod to the moment where Australian Musical Theatre talent was legitimised, with Nancye Hayes in ‘Sweet Charity’ and concludes in the Earl Arts Centre, where you are invited to our conversation with the one and only Nancye Hayes herself!
